Kindershul Picture Pages (ages 5-7 years)
Kindershul Picture Pages (ages 5-7 years) are designed specifically for use with younger children. Hand out the bulletins before or during the service. The front and back pages have “fun pages” that corresponding directly with the older children’s bulletins. These can be completed during service time. Crayon bags can be brought from home or provided by the synagogue.
The inside pages include a paper craft that can be used during their upcoming class time. The teacher can share a few key ideas with the children, while they can be cutting out paper puppets or putting together a paper puzzle. If the teacher decides not to utilize it, that craft can be completed at home with Mom and Dad.
Since the Picture Page corresponds directly with the Junior Bulletin, the Junior Bullein can be used by the teacher as a “story book.” Plus, the Picture Pages include a short scripture verse to memorize.
The Picture Pages allow for a broad range of teacher preparation. Very creative teachers can blast off from it, while newer teachers can lean on it for a “canned lesson.” You can look to the on-line “Teacher’s Forum” to see additional Lesson Plans available for subscribers only.
Again, share a brief story to amplify the craft, provide a snack and pray. Then it will be time rejoin the service, at the same time when their older Shabbat School classmates do.
